Install FLIC on your Mac

One download, two double-clicks. It sets up everything FLIC needs and puts a Start button on your Desktop.

What you need

Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer) macOS 14 or newer 20 GB free Internet for the install

How the install goes

  1. Double-click Install-FLIC.zip in your Downloads. It turns into Install FLIC.command.
  2. Double-click Install FLIC.command. macOS will say it "could not verify" it (normal for a new app): click Done, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the bottom, click Open Anyway, then Open. One time only.
  3. Paste your license key when it asks.
  4. It may ask for your Mac password once (for Homebrew). Nothing shows while you type; press Return.
  5. Wait 15–40 minutes. It's mostly downloading the AI models (about 7 GB).
  6. The guide opens when it's done. From then on: drop a video and brief.txt into ~/FLIC/input and FLIC does the rest.

Windows

Not yet. FLIC's speech engine runs on the Apple chip; a Windows version needs an NVIDIA graphics card and is on the list.
